Friday 16/09/16

Over the last 7 days I have have had a change of plan regarding the caravan and we have decided that the caravan will be  used as Joanne's craft work studio! The reason for this is that I will be turning 55 next June and I have a pension policy that allows me to cash in 25%.

With a budget of 6 to 10k I will be purchasing a small camper van that may need a little restoration some design changes etc, the camper van will give us the freedom to travel in comfort and visit places at weekends not having to book into camp sites and setting up the caravan.

I am excited about this project as I will change and adapt the camper van if needed to our living requirements I just hope that I have know problems with my pension.

Mean while I will continue to finish the Shamal caravan project, this week has been mainly touching up paint work and finishing off some electrical, pluming work.

I have been working around Joanne who has been using the caravan for her latest craft work project you can see the work that she is doing in some of the photo's below.

This weeks updated photo's.

This weeks has been mainly spent redesigning the small work top that I fitted for my laptop and USB charging points that is now powered by the solar panel mounted on the roof of the van.

By removing 30 inches from the seat under the right hand window of the van has allowed me allowed me to fit another another small folding work bench for Joanne's craft work, t will eventually be fitted with a piano hinge with a locking device to keep the table in place while Joanne carry's out her crafting work.

Looking at the right hand side you can see where I removed part of the chair for craft table location

Water storage container that I ordered for £6 arrived today, it should be fitted for next weeks update.

This table has to be cut in too and a piano hinge fitted to allow easy storage and access.

This week has been mainly working on the kitchen area with fitting new electrical wiring for the water pump system.

The kitchen now has a working tap that I found from a old camper van, its been refurbished and is working well running of the 12 volt system. I still have to fix the waste water pipe to the £1 sink, basin that I bought from our local pound shop. I also s till need to drill a drainage hole and connect the waste water pipe. The water pump still requires a permanent fixing until that has happened the pump is held upright in a old sports water bottle. I have ordered a jerrycan which I will fit under the sink basin with a easy access rout to top up the water.

I have also installed a volt reader, USB charging point with a fold up table for my laptop.
